EA Indie Bundle?

Yes, thats right I used EA and indie in the same sentence. But according to Indie Game Magazine an EA Indie Bundle has been registered on Steam. Now I have always classed indie games and developers are those that are independent of publishers so by definition EA can not technically have an Indie Bundle as every game in here they are in fact publisher to and not developer. None the less they are apparently getting in on some indie game action as it seems to be quite the growing trend at the moment.

This bundle will consist of the following 6 games:

This bundle will cost you £14.38 saving you just over £30 if you were to buy these games at their usual price. You can also buy the games in this bundle individually if you happen to have some of the games in question already at a 50% discount of the usual price. This offer is running until the 9th of May and I would suggest if anything get Deathspank for cheap out of this. The other games I haven't played so I can't really say how good or bad they are, but Deathspank and it's sequels are awesome.

'Indie Face Kick' Bundle

We have yet another bundle of indie game goodness on the horizon. This one as you may have guessed from the title is the 'Indie Face Kick' bundle. Their site is pretty much a coming soon advert at the moment but does give you a chance to sign up for their newsletter and get on the waiting list that will notify you when it goes live. This bundle will appear to come with 8 games, but we do not yet know how this will be priced. I'm going to take a guess at it being another pay what you want bundle. The games which will be in this bundle (all of which are available on Steam, and no doubt will be redeemable there, just as many other indie bundles have been) are:

Payday: The Heist Free Weekend

The Overkill guys are having a free Payday: The Heist weekend allowing you to play the game in full for free (who would have guessed) until Sunday at 1PM PST. This game is a 4 person co-op game where you have to pull off heists such as Bank Jobs, Diamond heists and escort missions. It is a awesome little game, which I haven't played for a couple months now, but I bought it on release and played so much of this. If you can get three of your buddies to play along with it is definitely a much better experience than playing with either bots or randoms on the internet. Along with it being a free weekend to try out the game, it is also available to buy at the discounted price of £7.49 or £22.49 for a four pack of the game, 50% of the usual price. I would definitely suggest picking this up, or at least give it a play over the weekend. This has also reminded me that I still have a draft write up of my thoughts of the game to finish off for this game I started a few months ago, I get distracted and forget about stuff, so I will get that done in the near-ish future (hopefully).

Steam Weekend Deals

This weekend you can pick up some pretty cool games for a fraction of the price as Deus Ex: Human Revolution and every single Serious Sam game are discounted at 66% off their full price. I have most of the Serious Sam games except Serious Sam 2 which I will be getting to finish off the collection, which is ironic as it was the first Serious Sam game I actually played. As for Deus Ex I played the start of it awhile back possibly on Playstation at a mates, I really can't remember. Seems pretty cool and I was a fan of the original as well. So for £10.19 I can't exactly say no. If you don't have any of these games now is the time.

Killing Floor Steam Sale

Killing Floor is a pretty cool little co-op survival game and it happens to be on sale on Steam for the low, low price of £2.24 which is 85% off the usual cost. You can also buy the DLC along with the game for the slightly more expensive (and I use that term loosely) price of £3.21. The DLC is just different character skins it doesn't actually add anything to the game except you can have your guy looking different. I refuse to any DLC of that nature as that kind of stuff should just be unlockable in the game but I'm not going to get in to that rant right now.

Anyway if you haven't played the game, what a new game to waste some time or hell if you have have 3 quid spare laying about I would suggest picking it up. It's great fun especially if you play with some buddies and organise your strategy to survive, you will need one especially on the harder difficulties. You will easily get your moneys worth out of this game. I realise that's not saying much as it's £3 but my point is it's a decent game and worth the buy.

The Valentines Bundle

Indie Royale are at it again. Giving you a bunch of indie game for next to nothing. The minimum at the moment is round about £2.80 but as all is subject to change. The games included in this one are:

The Soulcaster games are currently not available on Steam but are available on Desura. You have just under 5 days left to get in on this bundle of cheapness and I as usual will be getting this in the very near future. 5 games for 3 quid, how can you say no? Whoever came up with this idea is a genious (I know I spelt genius wrong but it annoys a friend of mine,. Hello Jamie if your reading this). Since this concept started there are so many games I have played which I would have normally not bothered with.

Cheap Games on Origin

Like it or loathe it. It seems like EA's Origin client is here to stay. I got an email from EA advertising some offers they have on games. To be honest they are decently priced. If they keep doing offers like this regularly. I will consider using them a lot more than I do now. The offer stands until the 5th February.

  • Mass Effect 2 - £10
  • Dead Space 2 - £7.50
  • Dragon Age 2 - £7.50
  • Bulletstorm - £7.50
  • Shank - £5
  • Gatling Gears - £5
  • Mirrors Edge - £5
  • Command & Conquer 4 - £10
  • Medal of Honour - £7.50 (It's Honour not Honor)
  • Alice: Madness Returns - £7.50
  • Mass Effect - £3
  • Dead Space - £3
  • Spore - £6
  • Darkspore - £4.50
For the prices they are you can't really complain. Sure, you could probably wait for most of them to come round to Steam sales for a lot of them, but if they keep up with offers similarly priced to Steam sales I reckon they could definitely sway some people over. It is a step in the right direction for Origin. They need to keep this up and keep working on their desktop client as well and let me have a changeable profile name dammit.

Indie Royale - The Serious Sam Lightning Pack

So once again the Indie Royale has returned. This time it offers (as you may have guessed from the title) a bunch of Serious Sam games. If you fancy some Serious Sam goodies for not all that much I would totally get in on this. The current minimum as of writing this is £2.52 and of course will no doubt have changed by the time I have finished saying what I have to say. The games included in this bundle are:

That is a lot of Sam for your money. I already have the first and second encounter from way back. But I gave the last £3.01 of my money to these guys. All of the games above are available on both Desura and Steam except Kamikaze Attack which is not on Steam. I believe it is actually a smart phone game ported to PC, possibly the other way round, don't quote me on that though.

Don't miss out on some cheap and fun games, you only have 98 hours, which is about 4 days if my maths is correct, to get in on the action.

Indie Royale

Just like the Humble Bundle and the Indie Gala. The Indie Royale is another bunch of games which you can pay whatever you want for. This is slightly different though. It has a minimum amount you have to pay which at the minute is £2.78.

As people buy the bundle, the minimum price for the bundle rises. However, people can also pay over the minimum amount to knock the price down. This bundle includes the following games:
All of these games with exception of Super Crossfire (which is only available through the Indie Royale) are available on Steam. I am heading down the bank tomorrow to put some cash in my account to get this. I want it purely for Nuclear Dawn, the rest are just a bonus.

The Indie Gala

The Indie Gala is quite similar to the more well known Humble Bundle. It is a bunch of indie games for sale at what ever price you want to pay with the option to split your payment between the Developers of the games for sale, charity (Save The Children + Child's Play) and the Indie Gala team. There is 3 days left to get in on this offer which includes 7 games if you pay over the average which is $1.82 at the time of writing this or 5 if you don't but with the average as low as it is there is no reason not to pay more than it. The games in question are below with the last two in the list the extra games when paying over the average.

New Humble Bundle

If you don't know what the Humble Bundle is, it was set up to raise money for charity by sell a random assortment of indie games for what ever price you found fit. The amount you pay can be literally anything and can be split between the developers of the game, the charity and the guys at humble bundle.

As an incentive for you to pay more they give you an extra game or two if you pay over the average price paid, most of the times I've noticed it's been round about $5-10. Considering if you bought these games separately it would cost about £100, it's quite a ridiculous bargain.

This bundle includes: NightSky, Shank, Super Meat Boy, Bit.Trip Runner, Jamestown, Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles. The last two games you get if you pay over the average which stands at $4.58 at the time of me writing this. I will be getting this bundle on Tuesday when I get some money. I dunno how much I will pay yet but I will do more than the average. So if you want to pick up a few new games to keep you occupied in the up run to christmas send a few quid there way. There is only 14 days left on this offer so get in while you can.

Killing Floor

Killing Floor is a coop survival game and Steam are having a free weekend this weekend with the game also knocked down to £3.74, 75% off it's regular price. If you haven't played it before think a generic survival mode with waves of enemies with the option to buy weapons in between each one. I bought this game at least a year ago I would say but never really played it. But now have put a few hours in to it over the last day or so. It is quite fun, especially if you can get a somewhat decent team together. If you do die during a wave of enemies you will remain dead until the next wave where you will respawn with the starting weapons and money, so I would suggest not dying, so long as one member of your team survives you will all respawn, but if everyone wipes it's back to the start again. It's basic survival mode stuff going on here really.

Depending on what weapons you choose you level up in a certain perk making you better with pistols, rifles, shotguns, medicing, melee weapons etc. The more you play the easier it will get if you stay on the same difficulty, I forget the names of them but there is beginner, normal, hard and I believe a couple more after that as well. It is quite a fun little game which I'm pretty sure I've mentioned already and for £4 you can't really go wrong with it. It's got about 48 hours left of the free weekend anyway. If anything give it a shot over the next couple days.

Steams Halloween Sale Starts Now

Valve are at it once again and throwing even more discounts at you. I completely forgot Halloween was coming up to be honest, but now through scrolling through all the holiday deals they have which you can find here. I am now nearly £20 worse off than I was this morning. I got Bioshock, Resident Evil 5, The Ghostbusters Game, and  every Painkiller game for I believe it was £17 all of which have been on my list of games to get for awhile now. No doubt Valve will rob me of the contents of my wallet a little more before these holiday deals end on the 1st of November. I just noticed there is a Dead Space bundle for £15 I may have to get that as well while it's going cheap.
